The Education Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors who serve without compensation.  They include community leaders, alumni, and citizens who share an concern for the children who are students in the Albert Lea Area Schools (District 241).

 

The Board works in cooperation with the District 241 Board of Education to insure that the activities of the Foundation are consistent with the District goals and policies.

 

The current Directors are:

The Board establishes the Foundation goals and objectives, solicits donations, directs investment of funds, and in general, oversees all operations of the Foundation.

Wall of Recognition


In order to recognize donors to the Foundation a Wall of Recognition was established at Albert Lea Senior High School where names of donors of $500 or more are listed.

Pathways to Success

The Board has established this annual program to  recognize graduates of ALHS who will be named Distinguished Alumni.  These individuals have distinguished themselves in  their chosen careers in business, humanitarian, and public service activities.  A plaque in their honor is placed on a wall of the High School.  Awards are given posthumously as well as to living alumni.

ALHS Athletic Hall of Fame

The Board has established this annual program to recognize graduates of ALHS who had outstanding careers while participating in athletics in high school and also recognize coaches and state championship teams from ALHS.  Also considered will be the ways in which they represented ALHS after graduating.

The community will be asked to nominate individuals for this honor according to a criteria established by the Foundation.  Nominations can be made for athletes in all sports and awards will be made posthumously as well as to living individuals.
